BRBA E-newsletter April 2009
22 Apr 2009
As broader sustainability concerns, including recycling and recycled content, are now ingrained in the business practice of many companies across many industries, the Board of Buy Recycled Business Alliance has initiated a process to wind up the organisation.

This decision is the culmination of nine very productive years for the BRBA, which has succeeded in promoting and developing sustainable markets for recycled content products and materials.

Its achievements include providing a platform for development of partnerships between members which has facilitated practical take-up of RCPs,  relationship development with Government and environmental stakeholders and the development of a number of “buy recycled” tools and resources including the development of a Recycled Product Directory a first of its kind in Australia and a lasting legacy of the Alliance.

The Board has initiated a comprehensive process to wind up the organisation; this process is expected to be completed within the coming months.

Many thanks for your support over the years.

Discovering the value of supply chain corporate social integrity
5 Jun 2006
More and more companies are discovering the value of corporate social responsibility in the marketplace as they evaluate the integrity of their suppliers.

Grant Harrod is CEO of Corporate Express, Australia's leading supplier of office products and business supplies. The company is listed among the 44 socially-responsible companies in Australia on the Socially Responsible Rating Index.

"One of our key goals is to offer businesses a risk free partnership by being socially responsible. Our sustainable and ethical behaviour is important to them," Harrod said.

"The paper we source is a good example. It's used daily in offices around Australia, but how many people really think about its source? We did and we are proud to be working with Australian Paper knowing they produce products of the highest quality and social environmental credentials," he said.

RepuTex listed Corporate Express as an 'A-rated' company in its latest Social Responsibility Investment (SRI) Index.

Corporate Express moved their paper supply from an offshore source to supplier Australian Paper who upholds the same ethical standards.
